Have you ever looked around and realized you’re the only person truly paying attention while the rest of the world is on autopilot? In this episode, Nikki shares two raw, powerful stories from a week of high-stakes youth sports that will make every mother stop and think.
First, Nikki recounts a terrifying moment at her daughter’s dive practice where an older diver hit the water in a lifeless belly flop from 10 meters up. While the coaches and even the lifeguard were looking away, Nikki was the only one who saw him face-down and motionless in the pool. This visceral moment serves as a haunting metaphor for modern parenting: We assume the "lifeguards" of our kids' lives are watching the board, but often, you are the only "Watcher" in the room.
Next, we dive into the "Monday Mess" of a soccer tournament where Nikki paid $11 in express tolls just to be 10 minutes late to an unmarked field. When her daughter was yelled at and benched by a coach who prioritized a trophy over her education, Nikki and her husband had to make a hard choice: Peace over the Program. We discuss the "toll" of choosing your family’s values when the system demands total compliance, and why you must be the attorney in the courtroom of your child’s life.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re being "difficult" for advocating for your kid, this episode is your validation. Stop living by everyone else’s rules and start trusting your mom intuition.

Are you the CEO of your household but an intern in your own life?
In this episode, Nikki gets raw about a weekend of solo-parenting chaos juggling futsal, tennis, and soccer while her husband was away at a dive meet. If you’ve ever reached Sunday night staring at an untouched to-do list, feeling like the world’s most exhausted Uber driver, this conversation is for you.
Nikki dives deep into the "Type A" mom trap, where we tie our worth to our productivity and end up throwing our business dreams together at the last minute. We discuss why we keep choosing the hustle even when it drains our spark, and how to transition from "treading water" to finding real work-life balance.
Plus, a powerful reminder of how things always work out, even when financial stress feels overwhelming.
Stop punishing yourself for being human and start reclaiming your presence.

If you have kids in sports, you have probably experienced this moment.
Your child works hard.
They practice. They show up. They give everything they have.
And then something happens that just does not feel fair.
Maybe the same players start every game.
Maybe the coach only rotates a few players while others sit on the bench.
Maybe the scoring system favors certain athletes before the competition even begins.
And your child looks at you and asks the hardest question:
“Why?”
In this episode of Struggle & Strength: Moms Balancing It All with Nikki, Nikki talks about one of the most difficult parts of parenting athletes helping kids navigate unfair situations in youth sports.
Because sometimes parents cannot change the situation.
But we can help our kids learn how to handle it.
In this episode we talk about:
• Youth sports politics and why they happen• The emotional impact sports decisions can have on kids• Why parents often carry the hardest role after competitions• How scoring systems and coaching decisions affect young athletes• The life lessons kids learn when sports are not fair• How these experiences shape resilience and confidence
Whether your child plays soccer, tennis, diving, gymnastics, baseball, basketball, or competitive sports, this episode will resonate with the moments when your child feels discouraged or left out.
Sometimes the biggest life lessons happen in the hardest moments.

Have you ever noticed how kids learn something new?
Often they need to see it first, then believe it is possible, and only after that are they willing to try it themselves.
In this episode of Struggle & Strength: Moms Balancing It All with Nikki, Nikki shares a fascinating conversation she had with another parent at her kids’ tennis practice about how people actually learn new skills.
This simple conversation revealed a powerful three step learning process that applies to kids, parents, and professionals.
In this episode, Nikki explores:
• How kids learn by seeing, believing, and doing• Why adults follow the same learning process• Why seeing something first helps build belief• How exposure changes what we believe is possible• Why healthcare professionals often struggle with entrepreneurship• How seeing examples can unlock new opportunities
Many healthcare professionals and working moms have years of expertise, but they have never seen what it looks like to turn that knowledge into a business.
And when you have never seen something before, it is much harder to believe it is possible.
If you are a busy working mom, healthcare professional, or someone exploring entrepreneurship, this episode will shift the way you think about learning, growth, and possibility.
Sometimes the first step toward something new is simply seeing that it can be done.

This week my son asked me something that stopped me cold:
“Mom… is this just our time?”
And I realized how rare that actually is.
Not because I am not around. Not because I do not love my kids.
But because I am almost always partially there.
For Lent this year, instead of giving something up, I added something in: protected, undistracted time with each of my kids and my husband.
No phones.No multitasking.No half-listening.
What happened in just a few days completely shifted the atmosphere in our home.
In this episode, I share:• The moment that made me realize I was physically present but mentally absent• What changed when I put my phone away for two hours• Why this small decision improved not just my relationships, but my work focus too
If you feel stretched thin, constantly multitasking, and wondering why everyone still wants “more” from you… this episode is going to hit home.
Sometimes the shift is not about doing less.
It is about being more.

You’re eating clean. Working out. Doing all the “right” things… and still not seeing results.
Sound familiar?
In this episode of Struggle & Strength: Moms Balancing It All with Nikki, I open up about the frustration so many high-achieving women feel...stubborn belly fat, hormone shifts, low energy, and the pressure to “just try harder.”
But what if you’re not failing?
What if you just need a new strategy?
We’re talking about identity shifts, hormone health, body confidence after kids, and why more effort isn’t always the answer. If you’ve ever felt stuck despite doing everything right, this episode will help you reframe the narrative and take control in a healthier way.
You are not broken. You are evolving.

In this deeply personal solo episode, Nikki opens up about what it truly means to say “This Is Me.”
After a recent speaking event, Nikki realized something powerful for most of her life, her worth was tied to what she did, not who she was. Being helpful, busy, productive, and needed became the way she earned love and validation… and it took years to recognize how exhausting that can be.
If you are a mom who feels uneasy resting, guilty saying no, or unsure who you are outside of your roles, this episode is for you.
This is a conversation about identity, worth, and giving yourself permission to exist without constantly proving your value.
You’re not alone and you’re not behind. You’re waking up.

If you’re feeling exhausted, overwhelmed, and stretched thin… it might not be because life is too much. It might be because you’ve been available to everyone except yourself.
In this episode of Struggle & Strength: Moms Balancing It All with Nikki, Nikki opens up about the invisible weight so many moms carry the pressure to say yes, avoid disappointment, and keep everyone else comfortable at the expense of their own well-being.
This is an honest conversation about:
Why setting boundaries feels so hard for moms
How over-giving leads to resentment and burnout
The mindset shift that turns boundaries from “selfish” into necessary
What healthy boundaries actually look like in real life
If you’ve ever agreed to one more thing while already running on empty, this episode will help you rethink what protecting your time and energy really means and why it matters for you and your family.
